FAQ
Q: How does this work?
A: We offer a variety of services. Please follow the links below for more information:
Pottery Painting Group Reservation Pottery Classes
Q: How long to get my pieces back?
A: It is a 7 day standard turn around. 2-3 day rush is available for an extra charge.
Q: I am unable to come pick up my pieces, can abc ship them to me?
A: We can absolutely ship it to you or to multiple addresses. Please call or send us an email with any or all of the following information: Last name on the order, phone number, date you painted or items you painted, and any other details relevant to your request.
Q: What if I do not want to leave them? Do I have to fire my items?
A: The paint used is an underglaze that requires firing to be cured. We STRONGLY recommend firing your items as the underglaze will scratch off otherwise. At this time, we only offer acrylic pottery painting options as a party package.
Q: What if I don't finish my item on my visit?
A: No problem! Please just pay for your item and then we can pack it up for you to take home.
The next two times you return to finish your item(s) are no extra charge!
Q: Are the finish products food-safe or safe to put outside?
A: YES! The dishware is food-safe and microwavable. We do recommend handwashing your items but they are also top rack dishwasher safe. The finish also makes it weather resistant which is great for outdoor décor.
Q: Does abcPottery have gift cards?
A: We do have gift certificates! You are welcome to stop in and pick them up, we can send them to you in the mail, or directly to your recipient with your special message!
HERE is a link to get started!
Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: For pottery painting, walk-ins are welcome. We recommend calling ahead if your group is more than 6 painters, particularly on the weekend or holidays.
Q: Can I bring my own pottery piece?
A: Yes! We fire our items at cone 04 and 06.
Please ensure any item you wish to fire is indeed greenware or bisque. If you are not certain of the material of your piece, please bring it in and we will do our best to identify it. Feel free to email us any links for an item should you have any questions.
When searching online for items please note the following terms:
bisque, cone 04, cone 06, unglazed, ready to paint
Q: Are there inventory catalogs I can look through?
A: We have a few catalogs you can see in store but feel free to check out our vendors current inventory! We order frequently, so please let us know if there is something we can order for you!
Bisque Imports Gare Chesapeake Ceramics
Q: Can I order specialty glazes or buy pottery supplies?
A: We do not sell pottery supplies or equipment.
We order majority of our glazes locally, and are happy to add your item to our order. Please note that a pick up surcharge will apply.
Please check out our local vendor for your pottery supply needs.
